The Bald Goat

Have you ever had one of those days where you just felt like a loser?

Where you just had no self confidence and your thoughts were filled with doubts?

I am not necessarily talking about depression so much as I am just a down day. A funk. Just kinda being blah… That was my day yesterday and my blog post reflected the rain cloud that hung over my head. And then along comes Mr. Robert Blasingame. He put out this tweet:

If you read the post by Michael Hyatt in the link you will read an amazing list of characteristics and Robert just told the whole world that he believes I am that kind of friend. I was moved to tears. Robert had done something and had no idea the impact he was making that day. 

It was the sunshine that broke through the clouds over my head and made me smile. It was the love language of words of affirmation that strengthened me and gave me confidence. In this one single tweet Robert had become a tool. Want to know what I mean? Read this prayer by St. Francis of Assisi:

 Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.

Where there is hatred, let me sow love.

Where there is injury, pardon.

Where there is doubt, faith.

Where there is despair, hope.

Where there is darkness, light.

Where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,

Robert was yesterday, is today, and will be tomorrow, a tool for God. And I love him for it.

Sometimes we do things intentionally to encourage and support someone. Sometimes we do things unintentionally and just because of the way we live our life loving those around us we make the world a better place. I also think the more we do things intentionally the more it just becomes the way we live. As you begin your day today pray this prayer above and then go into your everyday world and be a tool for God.
